Ammathottil’ is the electronic cradle functioning under Kerala State Council for Child Welfare. It is instituted as a means of providing better life conditions for the destitute, abandoned and relinquished children. ‘Ammathottil’ facility is available in all districts of Kerala except Kozhikode. The first Ammathottil was installed in Council’s premises on the Children’s day of 2002. Children obtained through ‘Ammathottil’ are being taken care at an advancedchild care centre at Thycaud. 24*7 care is facilitated to the children with the services of 2 doctors, 8 nurses and 76 caretakers.
