Media and Literary Awards

Kerala State Council for Child Welfare grants the following awards to children for their extra-curricular excellence especially in literary, artistic, educational and informative works. Also there’s a number of media awards given for the works on children and child welfare.

Media Award to:

• The best news about children.
• Victor George memorial award for best documentary on children telecasted on TV.
• K. Jayachandran memorial award for the best television programme on children.

Media Award for the Best Journalists

Narendran Memorial award for the best news about children in the daily.

Literary Award

Kamala Surayya Award is given for the literary works written and published by children themselves.

Education Award

Every year, the Council gives cash award to the top winners of SSLC and plus two classes to the children of Council staff. And also children of poor and helpless parents are financially supported by KSCCW for completing their school studies.

Painting Award

The Kerala State Council for Child Welfare gives award to selected paintings of students from district and state level competitions held every year. Also 2-3 students will be sent to the national level painting competition conducted by Indian Council for Child Welfare.

Bravery Award

Nominations for the National Bravery Award given by the Indian Council for Child Welfare are submitted through the KSCCW. The National bravery Award winners are honored with memento, certificate and Rs.10,000. They will be given scholarship and their cost of education will be borne by the ICCW.
